Culturally, we're living in a time of division. It feels like everything gets sorted into sides right now, and that tension shows up everywhere - including sports. In North Carolina, that shows up as Tar Heel country vs Wolfpack country. UNC and NC State together claim up to half of all sports fandom in the state, and the rivalry runs deep.

North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) saw an opportunity to take something that's inherently divisive and flip it into a shared, statewide moment instead: a way for rival fans to show up, compete, and have fun together, rather than a reflection of the division everywhere else.
