HLK’s pro bono campaign Empty Is Not Closed, created in partnership with ArchCity Defenders, earned three Silver Awards at the Collision Awards in Advocacy and Causes, Social Impact, and Nonprofit. Rooted in the St. Louis community, the work spotlighted the sobering reality that “empty” doesn’t mean “resolved” in the criminal legal system. More than a campaign, it was a purpose-driven story that challenged assumptions and inspired advocacy.
